Castiglioncello is the ideal city to combine a refreshing holiday with learning the Italian language. It also a perfect starting point to explore the wonderful cities and landscape of Tuscany. Cities like, Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, Florenz, Siena, Livornoand the island of Elba are within short travel distance. A trip to Rome takes only about 3 - 3.5 hours and can be done easily at the weekend.

The whole area is blotched with buildings and churches of the renaissance, the mediaeval and the ancient world of the Etruscans and Romans.

In Venturina (25 minutes) and Casciana Therme (40 minutes) you can relax in traditional hot springs of the Etruscans and Romans.

Every year a big wind surf festival takes place between Rosignano Solvay and Vada ( 8 minuten by bus from Castiglioncelloo).

The region is world-famous for gastronomic specialties like the way how to prepare tuscan style fish meals, truffles (also the white) and the wonderful tuscan vine (SuperTuscans, Chianti and others).
